Cradle worker - a view from above

Cradle worker - an employee who is not always visible to others, but his contribution to the work is noticeable to everyone. Areas of work that require a professional cradle worker:
  • construction
  • painting, finishing, and plastering works
  • installation and repair of power lines
  • replacement of lamps in urban lighting fixtures
  • urban greening and tree trimming
  • exterior cleaning works on high-rise buildings (e.g. window cleaning)
  • installation of advertising banners, etc.
The number of possible jobs allows a worker to choose the field in which to work, the wage, and the employment.
The number of work areas imposes a major obligation on the cradle worker - to comply with the work rules in the cradle. If workers do not follow this work rule or do it incorrectly, it will lead to:
  • injuries to the worker and others, and sometimes fatalities
  • damage to expensive equipment
  • damage to the surrounding area
If the state inspector's inspection reveals the absence of a cradle worker's certificate, then, following Article 5.27.1. of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation:
  • the official will be fined from 2 to 5 thousand rubles
  • legal entity – from 50 to 80 thousand rubles
The procedure for training, certification, issuance of certificates, and admission to work of cradle workers is established by the operating organization, taking into account the requirements of the manuals (instructions) for the operation of lifts (cradles), the requirements of labor protection regulations and other industry rules or standards.
To organize training on the rules of working in a cradle, SIKE has developed an electronic course "Cradle worker on a lift (lifting tower)", which contains information about lifts (lifting towers), and safety requirements when working on lifts and in cradles.
The main target audience of the course is workers who perform work while in a cradle at height.
What does the course consist of?
The course contains theoretical and testing parts.
The theoretical part of the course is presented in the form of interactive slides with diagrams and illustrations that simply demonstrate the information.
The presentation of information is linear and sequential, for convenience the course is divided into four sections, which a user can study in any order:
1. General information about production factors
2. Basic information about lifts (lifting towers)
3. Ensuring safety when working on lifts (lifting towers)
4. Ensuring safety when working in cradles

The last section of the course, “Ensuring Safety When Working in Cradles,” introduces a user to the requirements for performing work. By clicking on the corresponding tabs, a user will study:
  • Requirements for work performance
  • Hazardous and harmful factors at work
  • Responsibilities of the cradle workers before starting the lift operation
  • Responsibilities of the cradle workers during the lift operation
  • Responsibilities of the cradle workers after completion of work
You can consolidate the knowledge you have gained with the help of practical and test assignments, which end each section of the course. The tasks are presented in various formats: matching, ranking, choosing one or more correct answers, etc.
At the end of the course, a user must pass a final test, which checks the quality of the material assimilation.
How to use the courses?
The course can be used as:
  • 1
    Visual aids for lectures
  • 2
    Independent distance learning of employees
  • 3
