Road Equipment Training:
From Construction Sites to Emergency Services

Electronic Course Series

Road equipment is used across all industries and sectors: somewhere bulldozers are used, somewhere loaders and mobile cranes, and somewhere entire combined delivery vehicles.

Road equipment is used not only by industrial enterprises of various sectors, but also by utility services, emergency services, and military personnel.

All courses are built according to a unified structure:
  • "Basic Information" Block
This block covers the application and types of vehicles depending on their design features, load capacity, and types of attachable equipment. The block contains theoretical information necessary for understanding how vehicles can differ from each other depending on the sector in which they are currently used.
  • "Machine Design" Block
The next block(s) are related to machine design. These topics may cover the general design of a given type of machine or specific models.

When considering general design, some "average" vehicle design is usually taken as a basis. The design of the main machine parts is generally considered in the form in which they are most common.

For example, EC (electronic course) "Road Equipment: Aerial Work Platform".
When considering machine design using a specific example, the vehicle's construction is completely described according to a particular model. For example, EC "Road Equipment: Bulldozers" - design is given using the example of BelAZ 78223, 78231 bulldozers.
For example, EC "Road Equipment: Bulldozers" - design is given using the example of BelAZ 78223, 78231 bulldozers.
  • "Typical Malfunctions, Their Causes and Remediation Methods" Block
Each course includes a table with typical malfunctions, their causes and remediation methods. There may be several such tables if vehicle systems are considered separately. This will help learners understand what to do after completing the course if, for example, the equipment fails to start or the support hydraulic cylinders of an aerial work platform do not extend.

Usually, such tables list the most common malfunctions that, in their solution and cause, will not differ significantly in similar equipment from other manufacturers. This makes the tables universally applicable.
  • "Technical Maintenance" Block
Most courses in the series include tables and documents dedicated to road equipment technical maintenance, with time-based divisions (daily inspection, technical maintenance every 50, 100, 250, 500 hours, etc.). This makes the electronic courses convenient for maintenance personnel and operators responsible for daily/shift equipment inspection.
We all know that before starting work on any equipment, the operator must check for damage and loose fastenings.
